GROUPS &
ORGANIZATIONS
A group is two or more people that interact each other but with a specific characteristic, they identify each other or have some of the same goals. In the modern times to be in a group is an essential thing and it is too for society, it canĀ“t function without multiple groups working all the time together.
Before a group can be name like that people need to interact frequently and develop common interest, before this is called a crowd. A crowd is a number o people that are together but they interact too little or not at all. People that are often together con change with the right circumstances from a crowd to a group. This people together can be recognized as a category, that is people that have status in common like teachers, doctors, etc. and ones again they can be a crowd but pass to a group.
A group can have different dynamics depending on the amount of people and the leadership that has.
The leadership has two major roles, the instrumental leadership that emphasizes more like competition and the expressive leadership that is focused on the common good. The leaders have different styles to act for the group, there are 3 major styles. The first one, the authoritarian leadership is a leader that always is focused on the instrumental concerns and takes the decisions independently. The second one, the democratic is the one that take the decisions of all and is always looking for the common wealth. The last is the Laissez-faire and his way of act is always very permissive.
There are different types of groups that define the interaction that the people have. Some are common interactions and some are competition interactions. These ways of interactions are call group dynamics and they are affected by the size and by the type of leader that each has group.
The first type is primary groups that are mot close groups. They usually are smaller and are the ones that last more; you can always have confidence with these groups and are the ones who give you security, these groups are for examples the family and the close friends. The second group is the secondary groups, they are bigger groups than the primary, and they had weaker relations. They may last short period of time and they are usually unified by common goals like careers, networking, etc.
The next types are the in-groups and out-groups. The in-groups are groups which its members feels loyalty and respected are for example your soccer team, your family, your class, etc. The out-groups are the ones you compete with for example the rivals of any sport, or the opposition for others schools etc.
All these types of groups make the group conformity and it pressure to conform to group desires. These makes that the group has lot of influence for each person attitude actions and personality. The people need to belong and that makes that sometimes they say or do things because others do. Another group behavior is that the integers have lot of difficulty to put against the leader. These two acts make people of the same groups star thinking the same, this is call group thinking and is the tendency of group members to conform, resulting in a narrow view of some issue.
Al these makes each group unique and essential for every person, I think that the group in which you are should fit your expectations and if you feel bad, bulling or any bad thing I think there is always others persons who you came up with.
