Here in the Philippines, every occassion beer is definitely the number one drink that is served in any party. According to statistics: Beer is the most consumed alcoholic beverage in the Philippines and amounts for a 70% share of the domestic alcoholic drinks market in terms of volume during 2005. Between 2003 and 2004, the Philippines showed the fastest growth rate in the world of 15.6%.
Beer is sold in any store near you, Filipinos would buy and drink for pleasure. Although in some cases they drink it based on what's happening in their daily lives. Just like the Germans, we also celebrate "Oktoberfest", that is held every 2nd week of October. The festivities normally starts on the southern provinces up to Metro Manila. During the celebration we feature our local band and celebrities who joins in the festivities. Of course we can't forget the beer drinking contest, surely everybody will participate in that said competition.
Beer is already imbedded here in the Philippines. It seems every person can't live without drinking a bottle. Take note drinking beer maybe good to some people, but in which cases it's still an alcohol. So take it easy and just enjoy the company.
