Our Readers Write My name is Levi Anthony Perez and I caught this 30" red in Corpus Christi Bay around the USS Lex- ington in April. Thought it would be a great background and I tagged the fish after photo was taken. Levi A. Perez My grandson Ethan Ciruti’s first redfish ever! He was excited... Me too! Capt. Floyd Ciruti Matagorda, TX Caught these fish in the Galveston surf with four of my teammates fun fishing in April. We caught 35 trout on topwaters, MirrOlures, and Down South lures. After we entered, the conditions changed but we still had sandy green water to fish. We keyed in on rafts of small three to five inch mullet that had hungry trout underneath them. Sub- surface hard baits were the key and had to be worked slowly. We only kept a few for table fare. Power Circle Fishing is headed by my father Capt William Bubba Ray of Big 3 Guide Service, and also includes Capt. Keith Sullivan, Frank Avery, Ty Wanger, Eric Walton, Trey Williams, Will Kennard, Bert Jennings, and Will Wade. PatrickWatt Friendswood, TX (R) Capt. Ciruti with an 8-1/2 lb speck he caught on a cold day on a Matagorda Bay shoreline last March. Editor This is Nicholas Gonzalez with the first red fish he ever caught. We (Aunt Cyndi and Uncle Paul) took him to the North Jetties in Galveston. It was caught with dead shrimp on March 19th and was 30 inches. It was also his first cast on the first trip of the year. Looking forward to a successful season! Aunt Cyndi Kyler Sanders, 7th grader at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca, TX shows off his successful class project.
