Gulf Coast Fisherman Magazine Vol 38 No. 4 | Page 3

Our Readers Write My name is Tom Schmidt and I am a long time subscriber of your magazine. I thought your magazine might get a kick out of my daughterIn-law Jana Schmidt with her biggest redfish of her life caught on a plastic paddle tail. She caught this at Sabine Pass at one of my honey holes I have. We catch redfish here all the time on plastics. I thought you guys might want to put a young woman in your magazine instead of old salty dogs. There are a lot of women out there that love to fish. The more we take them the better they get. It’s worth undoing a couple of bad back lashes to see a young woman catch the fish of her life and be so proud of it. Your Faithful Customer, Tom Schmidt I grew up in Port Lavaca until the 7th grade. My dad was Jody Raby and my grandmother, Helen Raby, made the most delicious stuffed crabs in Port O’Connor, TX. Then my Aunt Joyce and Uncle Dan Raby took over. My first job was heading shrimp at Clegg’s. When my husband and I were dating, he took me fishing – BASS fishing. I was so bored. I introduced him to inshore saltwater fishing 18 years ago. He was hooked immediately. We live in Central Louisiana and he won’t take me to the saltwater until the bass, perch and bream quit biting at Toledo Bend. We go to the coast to saltwater fish 4 to 6 times a year. I enjoy the articles and information in your magazine. Terry Dunn CHIQUITA AVERAGE TRIP: 3 GALLONS!
