COVER STORY
GEAR REVIEW
a broken-in pair of shoes good. And FD 28 SR
VNT satisfies in every way with an easy playing,
‘C’ shape, mahogany neck, as well as a superior
fret job and binding that provides a smooth
feel up and down the fretboard – all with an
extremely comfy grip. A little perk that does
a lot towards boosting tone and volume is the
compensated Tusq saddle (made of synthetic
ivory), which improves intonation for chording,
along with increased sustain and string
vibration transfer to the guitar top resulting in
crystal clear highs and meaty lows. Now if the
selling price was for the guitar alone it would be
a great bargain, but throw in a superior, deluxe,
hard-shell Rockcase (made by Warwick) and
you’ve got a steal of a deal. ■
