How many times have you read and ignored an ad looking
for musicians? It’s a good thing this one was answered,
because that’s how bassist Duff and guitarist Slash met.
And it wasn’t long before they would go on to form the most
popular rock act of the late ‘80s. Now 23 years after Slash
and Duff Mckagan left Guns N’ Roses, they are back together
mixing it up with singer Axl Rose. The Guns N’ Roses reunion
is one of THE music stories of the year. But as guitar playing
goes, Slash has never wavered. “I’m very ambitious as far as
I strive for perfection in a lot of ways, but at the same time,
I don’t compromise my gut feelings,” he explained. In other
words his from-the-gut guitar style is to get it down, keep it
raw, and let it loose. It’s no surprise that his list of essential
albums all share those attributes.
