Academic Achievement Component
Academic Achievement points are awarded in the two following categories:
6. General Education a) Refers to courses or seminars the member has completed not specifically related to the municipal government or in the core curriculum. b) Each post-secondary academic year( 5 yearlong or 10 semester courses) receive 5 points per year to a maximum or
30.( i. e. each yearlong course counts for 1 point and each semester course 0.5 point).
7. Core Curriculum a) Refers to courses, seminars, or workshops which deal with topics of relevance to municipal administration and management.( Subjects and topics of Core Curriculum are provided on pages 8 and 9). b) Education programs are credited as follows:

Full year course( 2 semesters – 60 to 90 hours) 6.0 points Half year course( 1 semester – 30 / 45 hours) 3.0 points OMMI seminars and Accreditation partners’ workshops / conferences 1.0 point per day All other seminars / workshops / presentations 0.5 point per half day – 0.25 points – 3 hours

Advanced Standing Advanced Standing will be grated to members who meet the following conditions: a) If a member has taught any of the subjects of the Fore Curriculum, he / she may request advanced standing in each of these subjects, provided that information is furnished on such teaching. b) If a member wishes to be evaluated for advanced standing in Written Communication( 5.1), he / she is required to submit two pieces of written work.
Recertification Criteria
Recertification criteria were developed by the Policy & Accreditation and passed by the Board of Directors, June 11, 1999,
to allow and recognize members continuing professional development. There is not an additional fee required.
Members must achieve 10 points( 5 in Academic & 5 in Other) in a 3-year period( submitted on a voluntary basis) to
maintain their membership in addition to the normal member renewal fee. Points may be acquired in the following ways:
