5 EXPERIENCES YOU CANNOT MISS... 1 Biltmore... 2 Downtown Asheville... 3 Biltmore Village... 4 5 Biltmore is a must see while in Asheville! This is America's castle and the largest home in the country with over 250 bedrooms on over 8000 acres. The estate boasts gardens, a luxurious Inn on property with fantastic dining, spa and views from every window. Plan a full day adventure with discount tickets by booking in advance at www.biltmore.com. A well kept local secret is to enjoy an appetizer and beverage on the terrace of the Library Lounge at the Inn. The views are spectacular and you will feel as if you were transported back to the magical Guilded Age. While in Asheville, do as Ashevillians do! Eat, drink and be merry, you just can't help yourself. There is a plethora of incredible dining! My favorites are those that offer al fresco dining like Mayfel's. Be sure to try the French Market Beignets. My most favorite restaurants are Curate and Zambra's. The food at Curate is Spanish Tapas and is out of this world. Also, don't miss going to the Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar. It is the perfect place to unwind, read a great novel, people watch and, of course, order a glass or two of champagne. Originally built in the late 1890’s as a planned community for the workers of the Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Village sits directly across from the Estate entrance and houses one of the South’s most unique shopping environments. With locally owned boutiques, fine restaurants, art galleries, tree lined streets and brick sidewalks, there is something for everyone that will charm the soul! River Arts District... Located less than a mile from downtown, this area is home to more than 165 artists studios that are open to the public. There are also a number of restaurants, shops, and cafés as well as a historic music venue, The Grey Eagle. For something a little more adventurous try the Asheville Adventure Rental company. They can help you plan a half/full day kayak or tubing trip down the French Broad River. And a great way to see RAD and not worry about driving is Asheville Trolley Tours. Hip West Asheville... Just a little West of downtown, this funky area has been going through a revitalization the past 5+ years and is home to some of the tastiest food, funkiest boutiques, record shops, breweries, and nightlife. Sunny Point Café, The Isis Theater, WALK, West End Bakery, The Mothlight, Zia’s, Lucky Otter, Universal Joint, The Admiral, Harvest Records, Short Street Cakes, Biscuit Head, Pro Bikes, Oysterhouse Brewing, Second Gear, Hops & Vine, and more are located in this quaint and unique walkable community.
