PRESIDENT’S TROPHY
PARK PLACE BOYS WIN
PRESIDENT’S TROPHY
A
ndrey Borodin’s Park Place won
the President’s Trophy at the first
time of asking. They defeated Mad
Dogs 8-7 in a close game to conclude this
10-goal tournament.
Park Place began strongly and were 3-0 up
after the first chukka. With a goal from both
sides in the second, the half-time score was
reading 4-1. The winning team continued
firing through goals in the third – three for the
blue shirts to only two from the Mad Dogs.
However, Alan Fall’s team should never
be discounted and they came out firing
in the final chukka to score four goals.
Time was against them though and with
Park Place able to score once more it was
enough to secure victory. Life playing
member Eddy Arida presented the prizes
including the Most Valuable Player and
Best Playing Pony prizes.
The sub final, played later in the
afternoon, was a more open affair. Jonathan
Munro Ford’s Black Eagles overcame Elio
Leoni-Sceti’s Il Sole 9-5½.
