Removing Unfavorable Information legal In the current climate of Army downsizing it is more important than ever to take care of your Army career. This might mean reviewing your Official Military Personnel File and requesting that unfavorable information be corrected, removed or transferred to your restricted file. Unfavorable information can mean getting passed over by a promotion board or being subject to Human Resource Command initiated proceedings, such as the Qualitative Management Program/Quality Service Program or a show cause board. The biggest career killers continue to be negative evaluation reports, a permanently filed General Officer’s Memorandum of Reprimand or an Article 15. Below are the steps you can take to address unfavorable information. First, if you just received unfavorable information, such as a GOMOR, then you will have the opportunity to respond and address where you think that reprimand should be filed.
