SECTION 7 – MIXED CLASS RACING ETIQUETTE

7.1 - With two classes of cars on the track (GTE & GT3) remember you are only racing cars in your class, so do not try to compete for position with cars in the other class.

7.2 – GT3 Drivers, you are the slower class of cars in this series. Be certain to be aware of the faster car class approaching from behind. You do not have to get out of the way of the faster class car. It is strongly advised that you maintain your racing line, it makes it easier for the faster class car to make a safe pass if you are predictable by following this rule.

Otherwise, announce sufficiently in advance your intent to deviate from the normal racing line to facilitate the pass. GTE cars will be faster at acceleration off exits, and during braking, turn-in and mid-corner. If a faster car attempts a pass by out braking you into a corner, be aware that you may need to back up your braking point slightly to help facilitate the pass and delay going back to the throttle as your mid-corner speed may be higher than the other car.

7.3 – GTE Drivers, in a passing situation where you are the faster car it is YOUR responsibility to make clean and safe passes around the slower class cars. Forcing a pass on a slower class car is not permitted. Example: If you are approaching a corner and you have a slower class car in front of you entering the same corner, do not dive bomb underneath them at the last second as this will increase the risk of an incident and at the same time you are being disrespectful to that driver's ability to race for position. If you are the faster class car wait until both of you are safely exiting the corner then you can accelerate past the slower class car. If you choose to dive bomb a car on entry and you make contact while they maintain the standard racing line, that is 100% your fault. If you properly present yourself in the braking zone and get along side, and they still chop down into your lane then that may be their fault.
