CAMP HAWTHORNE RIDGE CAMP SKYMEADOW 7755 Hawthorne Ridge Road Girard, PA 16417 164 Sky Meadow Lane Avonmore, PA 15618 Location: About 25 minutes south of Erie and less than a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh Location: One-hour drive from both Pittsburgh and Johnstown Features: With over 200 beautiful, wooded acres and hiking trails that lead all over camp, including down into the Falk Run Gorge, this camp offers incredible outdoor adventures and an economical lodging option for troops or families who wish to explore the many area attractions like Presque Isle State Park. Features: Situated on 371 acres of forested hills, this camp is our horse program headquarters. With miles of trails, girls will continue to be challenged as they progress through our riding levels. The camp offers itself as a lodging option for troops or families who plan to enjoy attractions in either Johnstown or Pittsburgh. Plan a summer day at camp or a weekend event. Or, design your western Pennsylvania excursion and use Camp Redwing as your lodging option. The camp spans 123 acres along the Connoquenessing Creek and has been providing amazing adventures for Girl Scouts in western Pennsylvania since 1923. Nearby Pittsburgh offers wonderful museums, exciting sporting events, fun concerts, live theater, and unique, local attractions, all within an hour’s drive from camp.
