The Perfect Shot Hogwarts Summer School This week is on target to be the best week of the summer! Learn all the essential archery skills of your heroes and heroines— whether it’s Katniss, Princess Merida, Robin Hood, or Hawkeye. Get plenty of practice at the archery range, field archery, slingshots, and tomahawks! Every good heroine needs to know how to survive in any situation, so you’ll learn the fine art of outdoor cooking, knife skills, plant identification, and navigation. Once you’re confident in your skills, put them to the test in an ultimate scavenger hunt. Attention all magically-minded Girl Scouts! Hawthorne Ridge Camp of Witchcraft is in session! Join your pals for a non-stop week of magical mischief. From Quidditch and potions to care of magical creatures and astronomy—this is the perfect session for Harry Potter super fans to get sorted into their Hawthorne Ridge House and compete for the House Cup! Entering Grades: 4-10 Dates: July 12-17 Cost: $385 Entering Grades: 2-10 Dates: July 19-24 Cost: $395 Tour de GSWPA Camps Pathfinders The best of GSWPA’s outdoor experiences are just a hop, skip, and a jump away! This tour will begin at Camp Hawthorne Ridge with a gorge hike and target sports—archery, field archery, slingshots, and tomahawks! The tour continues with a hop to Skymeadow for horseback riding and stand-up paddle boarding, a skip to Camp Conshatawba for some high adventure (riflery and adventure course), and a jump to Camp Redwing for canoeing on the Connoquenessing Creek. The grand tour will conclude back at Camp Hawthorne Ridge with traditional camp activities like swimming, a campfire, and making crafts. Immerse yourself in a life-size game of Clue, take on an ultimate riddle challenge, and solve a nature mystery. You’ll even take part in a murder mystery dinner! Take a break from detective work with a swim in the pool, some creative time with crafts, and a turn at the archery range. Dive into a packed week of Camp Hawthorne Ridge’s musts for a summer bucket list. Entering Grades: 4-10 Dates: July 19-24 Cost: $385 Cavernous Adventures Begin your adventure at Camp Hawthorne Ridge with some camp favorites, like a gorge hike, archery, and crafts. The adventure continues when you hit the road to visit America’s most colorful caverns—Ohio Caverns. Then you’ll mosey on down to Louisville, Kentucky, for an ultimate underground zip line tour at Mega Cavern, the world’s only fully underground zip line tour, and an introduction to caving tour at Mammoth National Park. This courageous caving will also include some overnight off-camp adventures along the route. Wrap up this adventurous road trip back at Camp Hawthorne Ridge with a pool party to celebrate caving in! Must be at least 10 years of age. Chest or hip measurement must not exceed 42 inches; if you are larger, you cannot physically pass through the crawlspaces. Lace-up hiking boots that cover the ankle are required. Boots must have aggressive tread.
