GSSNE’s Family
Partnership Patch
Program
In August 2018, GSSNE
introduced a special
Family Partnership
patch for donations of
$25 or more. Family
Partnership donations
are gifts made by our
Girl Scout family, including
parents, guardians, volunteers, and girls. The
Family Partnership Campaign is a way for
Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England to
raise critical funds that stay within our council
and directly support girls and Girl Scout
programming. Contributions help support our
camp properties and camp programs, volunteer
support and trainings, development of new
programs, and financial assistance for girl and
adult members who would not otherwise benefit
from Girl Scouting.

GSSNE Centennial
While this annual report is a look back on 2018, we are excited
to share a peek into the future with you! This year, Girl Scouts
of Southeastern New England is celebrating 100 years of
Girl Scouting in our region—we’re only seven years younger
than the entire Girl Scout Organization! This 2019 centennial
marks 100 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and
character, who make the world a better place.
On December 2, 1919, Girl Scouts of Rhode Island was
chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA, and while times have
changed and our world is very different than 100 years
ago, we are proud to say that Girl Scouting in Rhode Island,
southeastern Massachusetts, and Pawcatuck, CT continues
to provide girl-led leadership experiences supported by
innovative programming and life-changing opportunities!
In honor of this milestone, GSSNE looks forward to hosting a multitude of special events and
opportunities, some of which are already in the works:
Centennial Patch Program: October 2018 - December 2019
Girl Scouts have the opportunity to work towards this special patch by learning about
Girl Scout history, working on ways to enhance the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker,
and Leader)™ experience, and even connect with Girl Scout Alums.
Time capsule burial at Camp Hoffman: May 2, 2019
Council-wide bridging ceremony at Lincoln Woods: May 4, 2019
Marching in the Bristol Fourth of July parade: July 4, 2019
Overnight camping experience at one of our local state parks: Weekend of July 13-14, 2019
Rededication ceremony and celebration at Slater Park: September 21, 2019
Whether you’ve been here for the entire journey, or you’re somewhat new to Girl Scouts, we hope
you can join us in sharing and celebrating this centennial milestone! If you have yet to join our
GSSNE Alum Network, we do hope you will consider signing up. It will be so special to share in this
momentous occasion and many more as we move forward. Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts
now, and for another 100 years! To learn more about upcoming events, and the GSSNE Alum
