ODERZO - A UNIQUE PLACE
WHERE CULTURE, NATURE, AND LOCAL
ENTERPRISES COME TOGETHER TO
OFFER ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES FOR
TALENTS TO FLOURISH
GSO is located in one of the most dynamic and advanced regions of
Italy: Veneto, halfway between Venice, a cradle of culture, art and
history, and the Dolomit es, a UNESCO natural heritage site.
GSO is part of a region in which the mix of history and innovation
creates the vibrant heart of the province of Treviso, a province of the
Roman era.
Due to the invasion of the Roman Republic by Attila, the inhabitants
of Opitergium were forced to seek refuge in the lagoon.
The city became so important at the time that its name was given to
the Venice Lagoon, called Opitergina.
on
The name Opitergium comes from Opterg, which
means ?Market Place.?
Oderzo has earned the title of ?Archeological
City? and in 2007, the title of ?City of Art.?
The city today is second only to Treviso for the
number of annual tourists in the province.
