Celebration

Secondary and Elementary Students and teachers united their passions and talents, and performed a classic Christmas story,“ The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”
The“ Best Christmas Pageant Ever” was the first play to have teachers and students combined together as a cast. Although the performers’ ages were widely different, everyone was equally important on stage.
Summer Freeman, who played the role of Maxine, said,“[ teachers ] were told to act like they were students because the directors were the real‘ teachers.’ So I acted like they were students and blended in with them.”
Music teacher Ms. Lee played the part of Grace
Bradley, the mother of Charlie and Beth Bradley. Describing her experiences, she said,“ If you share that passion of wanting to do your best in the play it doesn’ t really matter how old you are.”
The students felt similar. Gaurav Sharma who played Claude Herdman said,“ I treated the teachers like they were actors but at the same time they are teachers. We gave them the same respect we would give our peers.” Although the position of a student and a teacher is different, their goal of presenting the play successfully was the same. Fifth-Grade Shasheesh Manda said,“ I wasn’ t really into acting, but I tried it out and I got to know Ms. Schneider very well by the end of the play.”
