1. Miri Mizuno, Yuta Iizuka, Cathy Oh, Joon Yu, Emma Jane
Jackson, and James Jackson pose for their team picture. They
had to take two pictures: a normal one and a silly one. 2. Rishy
Rajkumar hops around the field in a sack. The first person to get
back to the starting point won the house points. 3. Geonu Kim
and Victoria Son cheerfully talk to each other. Geonu asked Victo-
ria a question about the activity they were in. 4. Mira Ivaniukovich
and Cathy Oh enjoy their free time. Mira spent her time drawing and
Cathy spent her time browsing the Internet. 5. Running as fast as they
can towards the pile of shoes, Greg Likhopoy and Justin An locate their
shoes and run back to the starting point. The team who got back to
the start first, earned the points. 6. Bena Nakhontum, Ms. Kim, Hayden
Choe, and Jacob Ahn play octopus tag as they run through the soccer
field. The tagged students had to join the larger octopus and the last stu-
dent remaining earned points for their house. 7. Debbie Jeon, Juna Ariy-
oshi, and Erin Kim converse. They waited for their team to be called to get
lunch. 8. Rishy Rajkumar, Nirupam Maheshwari,
Ihor Vasyltsov, and Shasheesh Manda rehearse
their team’s chant before the chant competition.
Every team made up a creative chant that they
proudly recited in front of everyone.

students worshiped, learned,
and captured the flags as they pushed
their limits to work with their peers.

Elementary SEW’s theme was “Unity” and playing
games pushed the students’ limits to unify themselves by collabo-
rating with each other. They learned the choices they made for their small
groups impacted how they united as a team.
Fourth-grade Alex Schmidt commented that “unity” means “teamwork”
because through teamwork he learned more about his friends, and
teamwork required him to interact with people he wasn’t familiar with.
Ms. Shin, the Elementary Student Life Minister, said the main
purpose of SEW was to be “connected together”. She emphasized
this was not just about unity and con-
nection within the school, but also at
home.
Fourth-grade, Ana Sanjeev,
said she cheered for her own
team by yelling “Go Foxes”.
This chant was motivating
to her peers and pushed
their limits during the
games. She also ex-
plained it was the main
reason why her team
won every single relay
sack race.
The Bible verse of SEW was Romans 12:4-5 “For just as
each of us has one body with many members, and these mem-
bers do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though
many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the oth-
ers.”
