Fall

In a lot of people’ s lives, fall has been lovely, the weather mild, and the color of the leaves changed beautifully. We always have the opportunity to be present for the pleasant moments. There is absolutely no limit for what we can do when such a delightful season arrives. It is our job to seize such a beautiful time of the year.
Volleyball players have extended their limits by persevering through a challenging yet fulfilling season by going through tough practices and overcoming big losses and also celebrating huge wins. Tennis players and cross-country runners pushed their individual limits as they endured arduous physical preparations for meets and literally ran with one another through injury.
Performers had numerous opportunities to shine on and off stage during the production of“ You’ re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Musicians auditioned to serve as a part of the Praise Team and received opportunities to perform during the elementary and secondary SEW.
During SEW all students shared in the joys and lessons Christianity brings. They pushed their limits growing in their faith. They also learned how incredibly powerful relationships with one another can be as they competed in relay races and collaborative activities in the community. The trash clean up with secondary and elementary students was a memorable activity which pushed the limits of GSIS outside of the four walls of the school.
Musicians also ignited their passion during the Fall Concert as Jazz Band took on a vibrant life of its own with new teacher Dusty Jackson playing alongside the band as audience members entered the auditorium.
Lower secondary Masterchef Junior fostered students’ passion in culinary arts and allowed them to push their limits creatively as they tweaked their own recipes to make tasteful treats and entrées.
Wrapping up the numerous accomplishments that took place during fall, the Student Council Association hosted the Fall Pep Assembly. The assembly celebrated student athletes and their great successes, such as the boys tennis tournament win and the girls varsity volleyball tournament and conference win.
The fall season brought countless moments of joy and celebration, which made it truly worthwhile to ponder on. It indeed was a special part of the year with more special moments to arrive.
