Her artwork expressed the worries of her summer break such as SAT, her future college decisions and career, and life with God. She represented her worries through small wire shapes insert- ed inside of the flower. 2. Erin Ryu, MYP 10 student, is offering feedback on one of her peers artworks. Students created a watercolor portrait of someone significant in their life. 3. Michelle Kim assembles her puffer fish by attaching small foam board spikes to her foam cylinder. Michelle then made a boat and waves to attach the puffer fish to and communicate the tumultuous feeling of her sister moving to university. 4. Helen Lim creates an observational box drawing with charcoal. Students studies shading and perspective techniques prior to their artwork. 5. DP Art student, Ally Lee works on her Project 1, which is a painting. Ally is intrigued with surreal artworks and art style. Many of her creations revolve around the surreal and her metamorphic characters. 6. Mrs. Lozano teaches Joseph Oh how to bend and coil chicken wire around his wire frame. Joseph was creating a human face with a windmill top to convey his experience in Spain. 7. Itomi Ishizuka, Year 1 DP Art student, paints a portrait from acrylic. 8. Tobey Lee sketches his person of inspiration. Students learned how to blend and create gradients with watercolor prior to the creation of their final art. 9. 2D Design student, Brad Uhm helps Edward Shin with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. Edward created a Pop Artwork repre- senting popular brands in society. 10. Alice Park paints a portrait of her father. She painted the artwork as a birthday present for her dad, which she plans to show him at the Art Gala. 42 Academics
