1. Sophia Lee dribbles with the ball as she looks out for a good pass in hope of scoring a goal in a game against Dwight. Even though it was only Sophia’ s first season, she
played a huge part in the team by helping out in the position as a wing player.
2. Sarah Kim prepares to give a throw-in to Clara Shin. It is important for the players
to throw the ball behind the head and to keep both feet on the ground when they do throw-ins. 3. Woojin Lee tries to stop Janice Min from passing the ball to her team member during a keep-away. Before the game, the girls usually start their warm up with some basic running, stretches, passing and end it with a keep-away game with the offense against the defense. 4. Cindy Jung gets ready to give a hard corner kick for her offensive teammates. Cindy has played on the team since eighth-grade and
contributed greatly by taking all the corners, free kicks and goal kicks for the team.
5. Lucy Jung dribbles through the opponents in order to hit a shot on the net or pass
it on to Clara Shin. Lucy plays the position of forward on the team, which is mainly responsible for the goals. 6. Kylie Hur gives herself a long pass on the ball as she receives the ball from Hannah Kim. As a right winger, she usually brings the ball up the side line and sends a good cross up to the center of the field for the forward.

The strong family-like bonds of the team helped the Lady Knights work together to carry out an immensely successful season.
When asked what was making the team so successful, Coach Harding said,“ It’ s because we’ re a family. No question. There’ s no other way I could describe it. It’ s everybody being 100 percent in this for the team.”
Coach Harding continued on the idea of a strong team bond,“ When I think about that group, the core of that team has been together for almost three years. The eleven people that generally start the games, they’ ve suffered some pretty heartbreaking losses together”.
Although the team was already close and cared for each other, they were able to welcome the new members. They quickly formed relationships with one another and worked together to have some great victories in games against other schools.
With the ability to“ collaborate well” with
each other, they were able to“ beat KIS for the first time in the four years I’ ve been on the team”, said Woojin Lee, co-captain.
“ We didn’ t expect to win, it was just the idea of going in and giving KIS everything they could handle”, said Coach Harding.
“ Everyone played a better game that day. Alex was great in the net, Janice had good leadership, and Cindy was really good in the back.”
“ When Clara scored, the atmosphere on the bench changed from being‘ okay, we are playing this season to be number two’ to‘ we are playing this season to win’”.“ I’ m proud of what they’ ve done, I’ m proud of the mentality on the team that we aren’ t gonna lose and we’ re going to continue to win for each other. There’ s not one individual that feels responsible solely for all the wins. It’ s a collective team effort,” said Coach Harding.
