Despite their loss against KIS, they were able to set a competitive mindset for the rest of the season. 1. Jun Kwon gets in a defensive position with his arms out in front of his chest to block the opponent from passing or shooting the ball. 2. Zachariah Ward is crowded by the KIS team, who are all anxiously watching the basket. He was a well rounded athlete that played multiple positions throughout the season. 3. Adam Bae, junior, sprints to one side of the court following the ball. Adam was a shooting guard, who’s objective was to mainly shoot the ball from long range. 4. Dash Lee turns his back against Louie Chung, while Louie tries to gain possession of the ball. Dash was a swing player for the junior varsity and varsity team. 5. Dash Lee, Brian Bae, and Peter Jeong focus as Mr. Pitkin leads the team huddle by giving pointers for individual players. The team huddled up before the game against APIS. 6. Jun Kwon warms up by attempting a lay-up. He played the position of a point guard, who controls the pace of the game. 7. Alex Kim quickly dribbles the ball around to an open space to get a better shot. Zachariah Ward helped him out by using a defensive skill called screening. 8. By dribbling around TCIS, Daniel Yun prevents the TCIS athlete from getting possession of the ball. Daniel played the positions of a point and shooting guard. 9. Zachariah Ward holds out his hands to receive a high five from his teammates. It has become a GSIS sports tradition this year to introduce and acknowledge each player before the game. 10. Ready to go back into the court, Peter Jeong kneels on one knee along the sideline. Peter was also a swing player who played for both teams as a guard. 132 Winter Sports and Activities
