eXploring the Future What Will the Next 10 Years Bring to GSIS? Grade 2, Class of 2026 Varun Parasuraman Second-grader Varun Parasuraman wants to learn about “the past and history of people from a long time ago” in middle and high school because such topics interest him. In ten years, Varun thinks that he may be back in India but may still be here at GSIS as a senior. Looking farther into the future, Varun would like “to be a construction worker” because he likes how they use tools such as hammers and drills. “I also like how they use blueprints to fix things if they are broken and they have to climb big buildings,” he concludes. Emily Stracke, currently in pre-kindergarten, answered almost immediately that she wants to “learn about candy.” When asked what subjects in school she wants to explore further, she struggled to come up with an answer. However, after considering various subjects, she expressed interest in learning about addition. Emily Stracke Pre - Kindergarten, Class of 2029 Grade 5, Class of 2023 Harry Kim Fifth grader Harry Kim hopes to get accepted to a music college like Juilliard and some day become a musician. “I can play the drums, guitar, piano, and I am learning how to play the violin.” Harry thinks that in 10 years, the school will be further expanded and there will be more subjects to choose from. 48 Elementary _GSIS Yearbook-ES_Part 1.indd 48 4/16/16 10:46 PM
