To celebrate what her students learned, third-grade teacher Mrs. Jacobson wrote a poem to her students: “A young Mrs. J and her Fabulous 3's learned multiplication and how to cross ‘T’s.’ We wrote fables and poems and had parties galore for birthdays and mothers - whom all we adore.” During the first year of GSIS, the students went to the Korean Folk Village in Suwon. 2007 Ethan Hur, Sally Kwon, Brian Lee, Hansol Lee, Julie Lee, Ja Won Park, Monica Park, Eric Shin, Ezra Thomas, and Ryan Yi were all in third grade in 2012. They have just completed seventh grade and will be eighth graders next year. How quickly time flies by! 2012 2008 2013 Students made their own games and presented them to their classmates. 2009 June Lee and Sarah Kim participate in the Elephant Walk. These girls are now in tenth grade. Songs performed by third graders during the Christmas Concert include “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” “A Holiday of Music,” “The Rhythm of the Season,” and “We Sing Gloria.” What songs did you perform? Mrs. Leigh came into third grade to teach the students about the muscles in their body. The students worked in groups and had to figure out what the strongest muscle was. They were quite surprised to find out that the strongest muscle is their heart. 2010 2015 2014 During the Week of Prayer, Ellie Ji wrote a card for Korea on the Prayer Wall. What did you pray for? 2011 Jimmy Kim, Partha Yashraj, and Austin Kwon made Christmas cards for their pen pals or friends from across the world. Do you have a pen pal that you write to? “From conserving water to managing money, we really enjoyed watching you grow, not just academically but as people. We enjoyed watching you grow from second-graders to now fourth-graders, and we are very proud of the leaders you are becoming.” -Mr. Coleman and Ms. Simmons 2016 3 4 2 1 5 6 Grade 3: Coleman Grade 3: Simmons Row 1: Angela Shim, Aashi Jain; Row 2: Sameeksha Vashistha, Disha Mahesh; Row 3: Stephanie Ahn, Shasheesh Manda, Shubhra Inglae, Andy Umeda, Yuto Yoshimura, Jake Jang, Sodai Kishimoto, Amore Watanabe; Row 4: Gihey Son, Ayano Kimura, Takaomi Iso, Mr. Coleman; Row 5: Anat Agarwal, Min-Gyo Jang; Row 6: Max Chin, Sean Sandefur, Nazari Karpinshyi, Ihor Vasyltsov Row 1: Rishy Kajkumar, Jacob Jung; Row 2: Summer Freeman, Helena Chin, Clare Son, Brian Jeen, Tristan George, Masataka Shimokawa, Natsuba Suzuki, Dhruv Bhardwaj; Row 3: Gihey Son, Konstantin Shulga, Kanjonavo Sabud, Ms. Simmons; Row 4: Yaya Hasui, Nirupam Maheshwari; Row 5: Petra Thomas, Sonakshi Talukdar, Yoshiki Sakamoto, Gaurav Sharma 1.
