You pressures the KIS player
in an attempt to force a turnover. The girls
were encouraged to make it difficult for opposing players
to advance the ball. 2. Jenny Kim and June Lee go over the stats during the
match. June was in charge of keeping track of all the players’ stats for the year.
3. Jennifer Kim, Jiwon You and Sophia Lee line up during an inbounds play.
Inbounds plays were used when throwing the ball in under the opposing team’s
hoop in order to confuse the defense and earn an easy score. 4. Alex Yoo interferes with a pass in a match against KIS. The girls conceded a 11-14 loss but later
avenged the defeat at KIS with a 14-11 victory. 5. Jennifer Kim dribbles through
two KIS defenders into the paint. The girls practiced dribbling with confidence in
order to open up more possibilities to score or pass. 6. Jaipriya Gupta looks to
get open for a pass against the APIS defender. Opposing teams often played manto-man defense which requires effort and movement to beat on offence.
7. Sophia Lee looks to pass the ball against the APIS defense. Sophia would
later be named the top scorer for the team at the end of the season. 8. Coach
Francois demonstrates a proper defensive pose to Jisu You. The JV girls learned
to open up their stances in order to prevent opposing players from driving into
the paint. 9. Joanne Lee dribbles past a YISS defender in a friendly match. The
Knights had two friendly matches against TCIS and YISS before the season began.
