Exploding from the Seattle Washington underground, in the mid 1980’s, bands charting the top of billboard with their unforgettable looks. Grunge culture, gave people something to connect to, to stand out, and to not to worry about the popular mainstream. (Which ironically became popular in recognition) It started the “X Generation”, a movement which made mainstream success through the 1990’s. In a small city with a huge sound; Seattle shocks the world with its underground bands in the mid 1980’s to Jonathan Poneman and Bruce Pavit making their label Sub Pop elevated to the Seattle scene in 1988, to the bands popularizing the rad grunge look.
