1991 BP was the first oil company to introduce unleaded petrol in Singapore. BP Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. was established. 1992 BP Asia Pacific was awarded OHQ status. BP together with BHP, Caltex, Esso, Mobil and Shell formed East Asia Response Pte Ltd (EARL), a regional oil spill response centre. BP was the first private organization to receive the Green Leaf Award for outstanding contribution to environment protection and preservation in Singapore by the Ministry of the Environment. 1993 Construction of SRC’s S$1.3b Residue Catalytic Cracker Complex. BP Tower opens in Alexandra Road. Singapore’s first flea market using recycled items at Mei Chin Secondary School organized by BP on 7 November.
