Through the years
In the 50 years that BP has successfully been doing business in Singapore, the island State has grown from
being a regional trading port, into one of the most dynamic economies in the world.
From the beginning, BP found the welcome attitude to business, favourable terms of trade, and the highly
educated workforce, a key asset to continually grow and evolve its businesses. BP began in Singapore as
an oil refining and marketing company in 1964. Over the decades, BP Singapore has evolved to become a
knowledge and trading hub for BP in the Asia Pacific region.
