ho would have thought that selling a handful of trees
from a truck in 1963 would be the start of a family
business that in over 55 years would grow into a year
round destination.
With a desire to provide for a growing family, John Chichak
travelled to northern Alberta to dig up birch trees to sell
out of the back of his pickup. John’s plan was successful,
soon growing to be a small garden centre on an Edmonton
city lot. By the early '70's, John’s children Wayne, Deb and
Tim were old enough to help with new ventures, including
lawn maintenance and small landscaping projects.
