FACTORS
AFFECTING
CHOICE OF
ANTIBIOTIC
“History and clinical presentation of the herd or flock” was the most important factor
influencing the choice of which antibiotic to use. The potential for development of
antibiotic resistance negatively impacting human or animal health was considered
“very important” or “important” for the majority of CVO Survey respondents, while 40%
considered the availability of non-antibiotic alternatives to be “of little importance”
(Figure 2).
