PHASE A: IDENTIFICATION

Two electronic surveys, Survey 1 and Survey 2,
were utilized to achieve a consensus among
Ontario food-producing animal veterinarians regarding
which of the 16 Suggested Actions were the highest priorities.
Identification of Six Priority Initiatives
Methods
Two electronic surveys, Survey 1 and Survey 2, created using
Survey MonkeyTM and administered in a modified Delphi
manner, were utilized to achieve a consensus among Ontario
food-producing animal veterinarians regarding which of the 16
Suggested Actions were the highest priorities. Using an iterative
and multistage set of respondent consultations, the Delphi
method seeks to achieve a consensus of opinion on a specific
issue. A summary of the stepwise process that was used in
Phase A is shown below in Figure 1.
SURVEY 1
Respondents indicate perceived efficacy of all 16 Suggested Actions.
Respondents select and rank up to 6 Suggested Actions as “most important”
Respondents indicate if remaining Suggested Actions are
important or should be removed from considearation.
Researchers gives 16 Suggested Actions a weighted rank score.
Researchers removes 6 lowest ranked Suggested Actions.
