Draft Tactics
1. Provide support and training to enhance the skill sets of veterinarians and producers related to the development and evaluation of producer education programs 2. Veterinarians and producers identify and evaluate existing education programs for producers on appropriate on-farm antibiotic use 3. Veterinarians and producers identify areas of need for enhanced education for producers 4. Veterinarians and producers develop multi-media approaches to complement existing resources to support and educate producers, as needed, on appropriate on-farm antibiotic use 5. Veterinarians and producers devise a high-level strategy for implementation of producer training, including: i) assessment of opportunities for delivery, including: a. in conjunction with existing continuing education events b. as a collaborative program with organizations such as OVC, OMAFRA, CFIA, CVO, and Health Canada c. various media options ii) frequency of course delivery 6. Veterinarians and producers establish and implement a review and update cycle of the tools utilized, and the content of the education program( s)

Veterinarians and producers research and write a persuasive position paper for key stakeholders on the merits of producer training programs on antibiotic use to improve antibiotic use and to reduce the potential for antibiotic resistance.
1. Veterinarians facilitate a strategic visioning session to establish a standardized data collection process, and information resource, for the purpose of charting changes in antibiotic resistance patterns 2. Veterinarians establish and implement a plan to share data on antibiotic resistance patterns in a standardized, ongoing and formal manner
