A GOOD INNINGS
Plans for an extension to the
dressing rooms in 1927
Following the cessation of hostili-
ties Swindon received £4,570 in
compensation from the War De-
partment and subsequently en-
joyed a surge in gates. They also
became one of the early pioneers
of floodlight football, hosting a
trial game under lights as early as
1951. The first floodlit League
game took place in February 1956
and the present pylons were in-
stalled in 1960.
