Dundee United’s Tannadice, could offer at that time. Plush new dressings were contained
within and, somewhat tantalisingly, it was said that the stand had been built in such a way
that it could be enlarged at a later date. Perhaps pointedly, praise for the stand on opening day was less than fulsome, though Border TV thought the event important enough to
cover on that evening's regional news programme.
