Well, what do you think of the new look? GT23 hails a
new era for the magazine and the culmination of a lot of
hard work from an ever growing number of people. We
certainly hope you like it and that you continue to lend us
your valuable support.
The saga over the rebuilding of Wembley rolls on and
despite the last game, last concert, auction etc. the real
demolition work has still not begun. The costs involved in
building the new National Stadium rise month by month
and it almost makes one wonder if the new stadium will
ever get under way. Already the original use and design
has changed and now the financing seems to need a
boost every few weeks. Lets just hope we haven’t forsaken the old girl too soon!

Another great stadium is under threat with the announcement that Arsenal have formally submitted plans for a new
stadium just a stone’s throw from their current classic
home at Highbury. The East and West stands at
Highbury are listed and part of the scheme would see
both converted into luxury apartments. I wonder if Nick
Hornby will at the front of the queue?
Finally, just a word to say thank you to all our loyal readers for the best ever uptake in respect of subscriptions
after the last Issue. For some time now we have been
examining ways to produce a better magazine whilst still
keeping the coverage ‘across the board’. We feel encouraged that so many of you are willing to commit yourselves
for another 18 months. The improvements will be an ongoing process and we always welcome comment from our
readers to help us better meet the demand. For the first
time we have reached the 1,000 print target and we hope
that this growth continues for some time to come. Enjoy!
