Blue is the Colour yet completed , ground at Ram Meadow had been promised , but it was still a solemn occasion when Bury Town ran out for their final match at King ’ s Road after a stay of nearly one hundred years . West Ham United were tasked with giving the ground a suitable send off , with 1,750 spectators watching a specially arranged friendly on 30 April 1976 .
