The events will feature expert talks from some of the industry’ s leading voices on climate, including:
• Mark Hunt from Prodata Weather Systems will give us the inside track on changing weather patterns and their impact on turfgrass management, as well as practical tips on key climate challenges.
• Turf consultant Alex Vickers will provide an interactive workshop all about soil, giving us a deeper understanding of soil health and its impact on turf.
• The GMA’ s own Ian Mather- Brewster will give two sessions, taking us through practical guidance on carrying out grounds assessments and using data to drive investment in facility improvements.
Revealing the secrets of elite pitch care We’ re also excited to introduce What’ s in Your Shed? – a workshop series offering unique insights into the equipment, fertilisers and irrigation methods used to maintain top-level surfaces.
Ashton Gate’ s Deputy Head Groundsperson Jack Langley will host in Bristol, with Durham County Cricket Club’ s Head Groundsperson Vic Demain taking the reins at The Riverside Ground.
Panel discussions about climate change There will also be a panel discussion dealing with the hot topic of climate change, and the challenges this presents at professional venues.
At the event in Bristol, our panel will be made up of Jack Langley, Sean Williams( Gloucestershire CCC), and Alex Vickers. We’ ll have an equally strong line up in Durham, comprising Vic Demain, Alex Vickers, and Aaron Tong( Hull City MKM Stadium).
Just the start These two events mark just the start of GMA Connect. We’ re already planning further dates for next year, where we’ ll continue to tackle the key topics at other prestigious venues across the UK.
