Management Association ’ s ( GMA ) Sports Amenities Landscaping Trade Exhibition ( SALTEX ) returns for its 78th edition , themed “ Uniting the Industry , Powering Progress .” Taking place from October 30th to 31st at the NEC Birmingham , this premier event in grounds management will gather industry professionals , volunteers , and exhibitors from around the world to showcase the latest innovations , trends , and practices in grounds management , landscaping , and environmental sustainability .

SALTEX 2024 is set to reinforce its status as the premier exhibition in the industry by hosting the biggest brands across three halls and attracting thousands of visitors . The event will feature a comprehensive programme , including the renowned Learning LIVE schedule , where industry experts and top grounds care professionals from leading sports venues will discuss hot topics . Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with grassroots pitch advisors from the GMA and representatives from National Governing Bodies for technical advice , funding guidance , and professional development opportunities .
As a not-for-profit organisation , the GMA has consistently reinvested the revenue generated from SALTEX back into the grounds management industry since 1938 . The success of
SALTEX 2023 enabled the GMA to subsidise approximately 67 % of its membership base , with community and student memberships benefiting the most . This support underscores the GMA ’ s commitment to nurturing talent and maintaining high standards across the industry .
Additionally , revenue from SALTEX 2023 helped subsidise 1,900 GMA training courses for grounds professionals , both in person and online . The GMA ’ s training courses and qualifications play a crucial role in advancing the knowledge and skills of grounds professionals . The GMA is also the only industry association accredited by the Department of Education ’ s matrix Standard , providing independent information , advice , and guidance to those wishing to enhance their knowledge .
Sarah Cunningham , Director of Commercial and Events at the GMA , highlighted the significance of SALTEX in supporting the GMA ’ s year-round work : “ By attending SALTEX , visitors and exhibitors are supporting the vital work that enables the GMA to invest in its members , education , and training , allowing us to continue lobbying , influencing , and creating stakeholder relationships that bring investment back into the sector .”
