W management at times can be very stressful , but have you really thought about the stress that the grass plant endures at various times of the year , day and even minute ?
Our aims as Turf managers are to mitigate these stress factors as much as possible whether they are climatic or cultural to aid turf health , consistency and to allow the grass plant the best possible opportunity to provide the playing surfaces we require .
With the warmer weather now upon us one of our main focuses is on drought stress and moisture management . Using a wetting agent program is key to maintaining optimum moisture levels within soils , maximising water availability whether from natural rainfall episodes or through automatic irrigation systems . The amount of available water to the plant will influence the plants ability to function normally and withstand both biotic and abiotic stress factors .
