● The lever ( 1 ) opens and closes the hydrant ( opened when the lever is up and closed when

● The rod ( 2 ) is connected to the plunger ( 3 ) and clos-es the drain ( 4 ) when the lever is in the open position allowing the water to flow through the by-pass ( 6 ).
