B SATUGRAN is a powerful wetting agent loaded onto a zeolite base . It is designed to hold a full application of active ingredient and to release it gradually , extending the efficacy in the driest of conditions . The zeolite base is a quality 1-2 mm ‘ greens ’ grade and is perfect for high-value shortcut turf areas where it will also increase the cation exchange capacity ( CEC ) of the sward .
We based SATUGRAN on our BESTWET technology , an existing wetting agent within the Velvit range . It allows water and moisture to move down deeper into the root zone by lowering the interfacial tension between water and other substrates . It also enables water to spread out laterally throughout the soil profile , giving maximum stress relief to all plants and reducing vital plant count loss .
SATUGRAN also prevents Localised Dry Patch ( LPD ), a common problem usually caused by biological processes in the soil ( for example fairy-ring fungi ). These cause a build-up over time of waxy organic material on soil particles , making them strongly hydrophobic . The result is persistent areas that are difficult to wet , leading to patches of turf suffering drought stress .
Spreading of SATUGRAN is advised between March – October , so there ’ s still time to apply it to your Greens . A 45-day application programme is recommended over the growing season with an initial quantity being applied . Follow up with reduced applications to give even availability to the sward over the required period . A 90-day programme is also possible if labour hours are limited but application rates need to be higher to compensate .
