ISEKI FOR LETCHWORTH GOLF CLUB ased on the edge of
B Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire , this stunning parkland 18-hole private members golf course is carefully managed by Daniel Spencer , Head Greenkeeper and the hardworking team at Letchworth Golf Club .
Known for its firm and fast greens the greenkeeping team are constantly out there maintaining and improving the course with their wide range of turf maintenance equipment keeping the course mechanics busy all day every day . Their previous 50hp tractor was due for replacement so they decided upon the ISEKI TG6507 IQ . Commenting on the requirements Daniel explained ; “ we needed a 50hp tractor that was capable of running all our implements including the aerator , leaf collector and leaf blower . Most of the time the tractor runs the aerator to help keep the greens and fairways in top condition , we then hire in a scarifier as and when required .”
“ The IQ dual-clutch F24 / R24 gear box was chosen as it makes manoeuvring the tractor around the course whilst operating the equipment so easy . The finger-tip control makes is simple to use whilst offering the control of manual with the convenience of an automatic , ideal for when you are aerating and require a consistent speed , you can use the cruise control facility with a resume speed memory function .”
“ Another feature we really like is the Auto PTO function or the Headland Management System , it is brilliant for when we get to the end of the run with the aerator , we can lift the implement up , the PTO automatically cuts out , we can turn around then lower again and PTO restarts by itself . Brilliant for safety and avoiding damage or excess wear and tear on the implements themselves .”
The rear Category 1 , 3-point linkage has a lift capacity of 1,580kg plus rear and mid PTO which can be operated from the cabin at either 540 , 750 or 1000 rpm allowing for a wide range of implements to be run from front mounted blowers to mid mount decks . The comfortable and spacious air-conditioned cabin offers the ultimate luxury whilst out working in all weathers with the ever-popular added addition of a dealer fit radio .
Commenting on the purchase Daniel added ; “ we have built up a great relationship with the parts , service and sales guys at Ernest Does , apart from the tractor itself this was one of the main reasons we decided to buy ISEKI . Having the support and backup when needed is invaluable as the demands and standards are so high for greenkeepers nowadays .”
