Unfortunately, this is simply one of those decisions that must be made based on your own individual situation. A salon such as my own that grooms strictly by appointment can accommodate these situations rather easily and thus we encourage pups as young as 6-8 weeks…once the owner has them health checked, not necessarily vaccinated. However, salons with multiple drop-offs, doggie daycare, boarding, or any other pet services must determine at what point they feel the pup has enough immunity to be in the company of others. Do your research and keep in mind that it’s not the number of vaccinations that protect the pup, it’s the amount of immunity within the body.
