I
enjoy painting nails myself, because it
is temporary and can be easily removed
with polish remover.
Recently, I discovered a “dotting tool” for
nails and have been intrigued with it since.
My first attempt to use it resulted in some
rather messy “blotches”, but I have found
that they add a nice touch to nails. After
practicing with it over the past few weeks,
I have developed my preferred method and
thought I would share.
Start by gathering the following:
• Dotting tool
• A color palette
• Two or three colors of nail polish
•
A patient dog who does not mind having
its feet handled
Then:
•
Apply a base coat of polish and allow it
to dry completely.
• Add a drop of polish to the color palette.
•
Practice making a few dots on the
palette to determine how much polish is
needed for the desired size dots.
•
Add dots to the painted nails and allow
them to dry completely. It is important to
allow the polish to dry completely or else
dots on adjacent nails may stick together.
•
Lastly, apply a coat of clear polish
to extend the lifetime of your polka dots
(optional).
