Scott echoed his lineman’ s comment by stating,“ Football is football.” In an 8-team district, Rio Vista’ s preseason only consists of three non-district games on a schedule that was made before realignment. Its first two games feature 2A schools and an outlaw Atlas HomeSchool team. Then in week four, the Eagles go face-to-face with Hamilton. However, Rio Vista isn’ t intimidated. The biggest strength is the time playing together, they noted. Describing their defense as a group with“ super-high energy,” the Eagles are just as similar on offense with Scott under center.

The senior QB threw for 16 touchdowns in just seven games played last year, while his main targets return on the outside in Conley and Brysen Yadon.

Conley and Yadon combined for 13 receiving touchdowns in 2025. Up front, the Eagles have plenty of tenureship with Coffin, Kash Hutchison, Kaden Morris and Hudson Chappotin.

Going into the 2025 season, a special feeling resonated

from the representatives of the program. For this year, Scott believes the feeling is even more pronounced.

“ This is the group that has the most potential Rio’ s had in a long time.”

Ready for one last ride, the Eagles eye a state championship and nothing else.
