Bennett batted. 596 for the Lady Foxes ' softball team as a junior, slugging five triples and 10 home runs. She scored 39 runs, drove in 26 runs and stole 24 bases.
Bennett led the Lady Foxes ' volleyball team as a junior with 217 kills and also recorded 87 digs on defense on a 15-10 playoff team and was a key player on a 23-11 team as a senior.
She was also a district champion for the Lady Foxes in the 400-meter dash.
Bennett earned all-district and allstate academic honors in volleyball as well as all-state honors in softball.
After Bennett ' s change of heart, she picked back up the sport of softball in 2023 as a freshman at East Texas A & M. She led the 9-39 Lions that season in batting average(. 320), hits( 39), runs( 20), stolen bases( 18) and on-base percentage(. 390)
She transferred to Abilene Christian, where she played on a 16-32 team in 2024. She led the Wildcats in batting average(. 425), hits( 62), runs( 41), triples( five), on-base percentage(. 500) and was second in stolen bases( 15).
Bennett played in 65 games this
past season at Texas, including a big 7-5 win over Clemson in the Super Regionals. Her team was facing elimination from the tournament when Bennett drove in the tying run in the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly.
Bennett then played in all six games of the College World Series as Texas beat Florida 3-0, defending national champion Oklahoma 4-2 and Tennessee 4-2 on the way to the finals. The Longhorns then beat Texas Tech 2-1 in Game 1 of the finals, lost 4-3 in Game 2 and then bounced back to win the third game in decisive fashion and make Bennett a national champion.
