For an entire generation T & D Driving Academy has helped parents, their teens, and adult learners get their driver licenses. In the growing mountain of DPS forms, Donald Money’ s driving school in Greenville has offered relief for frustrated applicants all over the Hunt County area and beyond.
Don’ s always kept one goal in mind, though,“ There’ s a lot of nuts out there...” he says,“ You want to teach kids how to be good drivers.” Donna owned All About Hair salon next door in the Huntex Property complex. She and Don’ s steady presence at T & D Driving Academy eventually developed a clientele of former students who then became parents enrolling their own children, and even a few of their grandchildren.“ I started with 6 kids in my first class back in‘ 86...” Don reminisced.“ I was a little nervous. But over the months and years, more and more people started to enroll in our school because we did our best to try and help them get their license.” That’ s the secret for Don and Donna: Give to your community; and your community will give back to you. Though they still consult from time to time, they’ ve retired for the most part and now entrust their daughter and her husband to carry on the tradition.

( pictured above right with Debbie) started teaching students in 2015 both in-car and classroom. As the new co-owner, Tony oversees their 3 party testing service, all certifications, and is the primary teacher in the classroom and school administrator. T & D Driving now hosts online affiliates in CDL, Hazmat, and School Bus certification, as well as teen and adult Class C driver education courses. Tony and Debbie met in Nashville, Tennessee when they both were accomplished and focused music industry professionals. They raised their children there while acquiring the kind of experience that lends itself to T & D Driving Academy’ s goals.
Writing for publishers, Ramey also taught college for the better part of 30 years.
By the time he met Debbie, he was an award-winning songwriter on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee and she was lead performer in her own show at Opryland. Together, they’ ve tracked a lot of highway miles in music:“ It’ s dangerous out there,” says Debbie,“ There are more vehicles on the roads now than ever, so it’ s important to take driver education seriously.” While Debbie manages Fuller’ s Nursery and Tony teaches college English, they’ re also committed to continuing the legacy of T & D Driving Academy for Don and Donna.
They’ ve updated the work flow systems to fit teenagers’ demanding schedules allowing online registration and booking. The core mission of T & D Driving Academy, however, hasn’ t changed.“ We have the best instructors, curriculum, and classroom program around. Online programs are convenient, and we accommodate that, but we mainly want to host real students in a real classroom. That’ s where kids learn lessons that last a lifetime.”
