Local retailers add personal touch to Christmas shopping

Over the last 25 years, shopping through online megastores such as Amazon has become a new Christmastime tradition for many. And while the convenience of 24-hour shopping while dressed in one’ s pajamas, some people are rediscovering the charm and connection that comes with shopping at local businesses.

In downtown Greenville, several retailers can regularly be seen chatting with customers and staying open for extended hours during community events like the recent Lee Street Jamboree and Bras for the Cause.
One local business owner who can prominently be seen at such events – although unrecognizable as he cosplays a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle – is Matthew Holland, owner of toy store / comic shop Toy Ninjas.
