November brings the fiddles
The Bob Wills Fiddle Festival and Contest returns to downtown Greenville Nov. 6-7.
The long-running festival features fiddle contests, Western swing bands, outdoor stages, vendors, a car show and a historical exhibit, along with a headline concert at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium.
The festival began in Greenville in 2014 and has become one of the city ' s signature fall traditions. Although Bob Wills himself was not from Greenville, the city has embraced his music and built a popular annual event around the Western swing tradition.
By early November, the festival and the final Farmers Market of the season provide two more opportunities to get out before the holiday calendar takes over.
