Greenville and Butler County is conveniently located halfway between Atlanta and New Orleans and halfway between Birmingham and Mobile via direct access to Interstate 65 and 85 .
GETTING TO WORK : Butler County ’ s elected officials and community leaders are committed to bringing quality industries and businesses to the county . These companies provide good paying jobs to our citizens and invest in our communities .
On a day to day basis the Butler County Commission for Economic Development is focused on taking care of its existing industries and creating a business friendly environment that is attractive to our existing industrial base as well as new companies that are seeking expansion opportunities . The organization is funded and sponsored by city and county governments , banks , electric , gas and communication utilities and existing industries .
The City of Greenville , the Butler County Commission and the BCCED have worked together to attract Hwashin America , Hyundai Steel and AIA Recycling – three Hyundai Tier
One supply chain companies - as well as Coastal Forest Products and Ozark Materials . Collectively these companies have created approximately 1500 jobs in Butler County . Over the past 10 years each has chosen to continue to expand and invest in our communities .
Many other local organizations also promote and encourage job growth , such as the Butler County Manufacturers Association , the Butler County Human Resource Managers Association , the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Greenville Industrial Development board .
Industrial parks in Greenville , Georgiana and the county offer industries a ready-made location with the infrastructure and some existing buildings in place . I-65 and U . S . 31 run through both Greenville and Georgiana , as does CSX Railroad .
Retail opportunities abound at the I-65 exit in Greenville , which provides access to restaurants , hotels and shopping centers .
Greenville continues to maintain a solid relationship with cities throughout Central Alabama , helping Montgomery and Prattville lure Hyundai Heavy Industries to Hope Hull , ( 30 miles north of the Camellia City on I-65 ), an economic impact that generated approximately 135 new manufacturing jobs for the area . They are currently expanding and will add an additional 85 new jobs .
