› If your garden will be kept outside,
consider spraying your creations
with a weather proofing spray coat.

› Many plants used in miniature gar-
dens don’t need much water. Pur-
chase or repurpose a spray bottle
for misting rather than soaking.
› Moss makes a great bed for Faeries
and soft surroundings for the gar-
den. Purchase a bag of various moss
varieties at Joanne’s Craft Supply
or Homestead Gardens. The moss
goes farther than you think—gently
spread it out to cover more space.
› If you are creating your own ac-
cessories, a glue gun is vital. Even
youngsters can handle a glue gun,
with supervision. While school glue
will work, its adhesion doesn’t last
as long as stronger types of craft or
wood glue. Various types of glues
are available at Michaels.
